Chasing Ghosts
03:06
|
|||
My hands are hourglasses, grains of sand I can't hold on.
I’m chasing melodies that stray, long after the song
And in the morning I will reminisce, of birds that never flew
I’ve been trying old things, I want something new
Can ya tell me, why did it take me so long to let it go
I’m looking for a future I can sow
The old days are gone, but I will start anew
I’m done chasing after ghosts I never knew
Walking down this path of life, the road it seems so long
I’m too young for regrets but what I want just seems long gone
I’m tempted to just turn around, but I know there's nothing there
The canvas has been dry for years, my paint brush now is bare
Can ya tell me, why did it take me so long to let it go
I’m looking for a future I can sow
The old days are gone, but I will start anew
I’m done chasing after ghosts I never knew
And I’ve been haunted
For so long now
I’m getting out

Glass House
04:31

Oh you don't even know what I have done
You say they don't know you, you think you're the only one
It stands to reason that your house of glass
shines like new today, but never can last
Fractured are the eyes through which you see
Everyone around you, caught in that tapestry
Once you learn that molds can fit no more
each person's unique, just open that door
I paint a picture of you, inside my head
a false impression, ghosts left behind, to ease my mind
But we're not puppets and you, can't pull the strings
voiceless conversations, echo
from the noise we sing
Many times with someone new I met
I'd form an idea, and soon my mind was set
what a foolish thing, to try and do
when everyone's a rainbow, and you can't see the hughes
I paint a picture of you, inside my head
a false impression, ghosts left behind, to ease my mind
But we're not puppets and you, can't pull the strings
voiceless conversations, echo
from the noise we sing

Maybe Next Time
02:43
|
|||
Oh the boys are going out, going out to the bars
Gonna have a few colds ones, dancing 'til they see stars
I'm not one to go out, every single weekend
Tonight I'll just stay at home. no party to attend
I'm gonna pass on this one, I'm gonna pass on this one
I'm gonna pass on this one, maybe next time
All my buddies are drinking, staying up half the night
There's a rager at Johnny's, last time he got in a fight
some nights I like to be sober, some nights I keep a clear head
working on a long lost song, write a bar or two before bed
I'm gonna pass on this one, I'm gonna pass on this one
I'm gonna pass on this one, maybe next time
(Instrumental)
I'm gonna pass on this one, I'm gonna pass on this one
I'm gonna pass on this one, maybe next time
and maybe next time
and maybe next time

Better Vision
03:05
|
|||
I’ve found that I been climbing, to a peak I do not see
I want a better vision, of all that I could be
I’m trying out the pieces just to see what can fit me
We’re breaking and we're building, and someday we’ll find the key
I’m rewriting the script to what would be a sorry end
I see the road before me is a path that I can mend
I don't have the answers, but I’ll find them at the bend
Fighting for the cause of life, for which all life depends
I’m opening up doors just to see where they can go
Taking all the missteps is the fastest way to know
Where you’re meant to be, it's what you give that makes you glow
We’ll find out the answers, as we learn and as we grow
(Harmonica solo)
I’ve found that I’ve been trying, to sort things from within
But if I just sat thinking, my life would not begin
Not knowing just what you want, it never was a sin
But one day we’ll discover who we are from where we’ve been
